Schumer Ridiculed for Grilling Photo, Deletes It After Backlash

Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer was criticized on social media for a Father’s Day post published on X, which he later removed. The post detailed a celebratory barbecue at‌ his daughter and her wife’s new home with ⁤a backyard—marking a first for⁤ his family traditionally accustomed to apartment‌ living. The content also ‍included a photo of‍ Schumer preparing food, which contributed to the backlash. ‍Despite the personal nature of the post, the response focused on various criticisms of the ⁤scene depicted.

Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY) was heavily mocked on Sunday over a Father’s Day post he published on X that he later deleted.

“Our family has lived in an apartment building for all our years, but my daughter and her wife just bought a house with a backyard and for the first time we’re having a barbecue with hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill!” he posted. “Father’s Day Heaven!”

The photo showed Schumer putting cheese on a raw hamburger patty while his reading glasses were next to him on a completely clean cutting board.

The photo drew comparisons to other Democrats who posted BBQ photos on social media and later went on to lose their elections, including former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe and North Carolina Senate candidate Cal Cunningham.

“I get that you’re playing to the masses but literally no one puts cheese on a raw beef patty,” said Donald Trump Jr. “If you need help learning how to do basic grilling stuff let me know. Nice try relating though. 🙄 Fuc$&?g communists!!!”

Journalist Jordan Schachtel posted on X: “Chuck Schumer has been a politician for his entire life and has never held a real job. He also apparently has never used a grill. How can this man possibly relate to any of his constituents? He may as well be from a different planet.”

“Hard pass on the tapeworms there Wolfgang Puck…” one account commented, while another posted: “Chuck is making an E. coli with cheese.”

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) posted: “Things I trust more than a Schumer burger: Epstein’s prison guards. The CIA. Gas station sushi.”
