Music Executive Scooter Braun Addresses Rumors of A-List Star Exodus
Music executive Scooter Braun has responded to the mass exodus of his A-list stars like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande amid rumors that he’s getting out of the management business.
The 42-year-old talent manager seemed to make light of the headlines about him reportedly being fired when he posted a message on Twitter to his 3.5 million followers that read, “Breaking news … I’m no longer managing myself.“

The post came about after multiple reports surfaced this week on social media that his clients Bieber, Grande, Idina Menzel, and Demi Lovato have split from the famed music manager. But the reason has yet to be shared.
A source close to Braun disputed the reports and told Page Six that his pop star clients are all still “under contract” and the music exec is just taking on a new role.
“All of Scooter Braun’s clients are under contract, and negotiations have been going on for several months as Scooter steps into his larger role as Hybe America CEO,” the source said. “People are spreading rumors based on what they know, but they are off. Scooter’s team at SB Projects are still handling both Justin and Ariana as they work through what this new structure looks like.”
Insiders said Braun was stepping away from day-to-day duties and is “getting out of management” altogether, Variety noted.
“He has been for years,” the source said. “That’s the real story.”
Denials and Speculations
On Monday, Billboard reported that the “Side to Side” hitmaker and Bieber had dropped Braun amid reports of trouble between the “Baby” hitmaker and his longtime manager. Grande, who worked with Scooter for a decade, reportedly has ”outgrown him and is excited to go in a different direction,” the outlet noted.
However, reps for both of the singers have denied anything is wrong. While other sources told Page Six “where there’s smoke, there’s fire.”
One insider told People magazine that for the first time in nearly two decades, Bieber was working on new music without Braun and that the two have not spoken in almost a year.
“Justin’s been working on his new record for the last six months,” an insider said. “Scooter and SB Projects have not set up one session or done one thing for this [new] record. The relationship with Scooter has run its course.”
Other insiders said Menzel and Braun parted ways earlier this year and the “Heart Attack” hitmaker split from him in July.
