Cocaine discovered in White House, potentially by authorized individual.

The U.S. Secret Service has made a shocking revelation about the substance found in the White House on July 3. It turns out that the substance, identified as cocaine, may have been brought in by someone who works there or had authorization to be there.

Intriguingly, a Secret Service spokesman has stated that while the incident is under investigation, it doesn’t seem to pose a significant threat to the West Wing.

“We are determined to identify the individual responsible for bringing it in,” said Anthony Guglielmi, chief of communications for the U.S. Secret Service, in an interview with The Epoch Times on July 5.

Guglielmi explained that the area where the drug was discovered is off-limits to the public. It serves as a gathering spot for staff, media, guests, and others who have business in the West Wing during the security screening process. Due to security concerns, he couldn’t provide specific details.

Although everyone passing through the area is identified, Guglielmi emphasized that it’s a bustling spot with numerous individuals authorized to be in the West Wing.

“There’s a multitude of individuals who come through this area. It’s an open area for individuals who are authorized to be in the West Wing,” he revealed.

Guglielmi acknowledged that narcotics detection is not typically part of the screening process. However, Secret Service agents will now be examining the area for any vulnerabilities that need to be addressed.

Initially, the White House will not be directly involved in the investigation. Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that the administration will allow the Secret Service to carry out its investigation before determining any necessary actions.

“We will take appropriate action based on the outcome of the Secret Service investigation,” Ms. Jean-Pierre assured reporters during the weekly White House press briefing.

She also mentioned that the substance was found in a heavily trafficked area.

Bidens Were Away

Interestingly, President Joe Biden and his family were reportedly at Camp David when the substance was discovered.

Ms. Jean-Pierre revealed that tours were conducted on June 30, July 1, and July 2, just before the substance was found on July 3. She clarified that tours are not scheduled on federal holidays or days when the White House hosts significant events. However, Guglielmi confirmed that there were tours over the weekend, emphasizing that the area in question is not accessible to the public.

“West Wing tours are extremely limited,” Guglielmi emphasized.

Ms. Jean-Pierre declined to comment on whether President Biden or his staff were reviewing the security procedures. She emphasized that it is the Secret Service’s responsibility to handle security matters, and the Biden administration will determine its response once the investigation is concluded.

Administration Is Confident

“We have confidence that the Secret Service will thoroughly investigate this incident and take appropriate action,” Ms. Jean-Pierre concluded.
