Secret Service Responds To Shooting Near VP Kamala Harris’ Residence
The crime wave in Washington, D.C., spread immediately to Vice President Kamala Harris‘ home.
U.S. Secret Service agents responded to stories of a single bullet at 34th and Massachusetts Avenue NW, close to the US Naval Observatory, on Monday at around 1:30 am.
Crime scene elements were looking into the release of a firearm, according to Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

Lt. Paul Mayhair, another Secret Service official, added,” No one was reported to have been hurt, and there is currently no evidence that this affair was directed at any protectees or the Naval Observatory.”

The incident occurred as the nation’s’s capital battled a recent increase in gun violence and crime in the district. According to Axios, there was a 40 % increase in reported violent crimes involving firearms between 2017, when there were 1, 573, and last year, when the number increased to 2, 203.
