Selena Gomez Cops To One Major Regret Since Leaving Disney’s ‘Wizards Of Waverly Place’
Singer and actress Selena Gomez One regret she had since leaving her role of Alex Russo the teen wizard on Disney’s hit sitcom is that she didn’t get to be with her family. “The Wizards of Waverly Place”: Not keeping in touch or communicating with cast members.
Gomez revealed her regret when she joined two of her former cast mates — David DeLuise, who played her father Jerry Russo, and Jennifer Stone, who played her best friend Harper Finkel — for Monday’s episode of their podcast, “Wizards of Waverly Pod.”
DeLuise initiated the exchange by asking a prewritten question from a “crystal ball” Ask her to describe herself at the table “biggest mistake” One caveat though: “you can’t say a boy’s name.”
“Okay, Jesus,” Gomez responded by leaning back in the chair. “You know what? Probably not staying in touch with you guys.”
“Oh s***, you’re gonna make me cry,” DeLuise replied by taking off his glasses and putting his head back on the chair.
“I think I slowly became … kind of shamed. I felt ashamed of the decisions that I made. I didn’t want you guys to see me in the state that I was in because, a.) you would have told me the truth which terrifies me, and b.) I didn’t want to let you down,” Gomez shared her feelings with the hosts, acknowledging that she was not able to do a better job staying in touch with them despite her fears.
“That’s really sweet and thank you for saying that,” DeLuise replied. “We obviously … I miss you and I’m happy you’re doing well now.”
“I appreciate you saying that too. To be perfectly blunt, like you know there has been times where I’m like … ‘Did we stop being friends because I didn’t tell her what she wanted to hear?’ You know what I mean … so I appreciate you being here,” Stone was added.
“I appreciate you guys … dearly and I love you so much in a way that I’ve never loved anybody else,” The “Only Murders in the Building” star continued.
Stone said that Stone was right and jumped in again. “beautiful” The fact that they were able to learn from their mistakes as they got older was a great thing.
“We don’t have to stay in that place,” Stone stated that, and Gomez agreed. “Absolutely.”
