Sen. Dianne Feinstein, 90, faces scathing criticism from CNN.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s Health and Engagement in Question as She Turns 90
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) has been serving in the Senate for nearly 31 years, drawing a government paycheck funded by taxpayers for over half a century. However, on her 90th birthday, the liberal media took a different approach. CNN published a lengthy piece highlighting Feinstein’s dismal health and lack of engagement with her job.
“Sen. Dianne Feinstein has grown isolated over the years from most members of her California delegation and other Democrats in her home state, feeding a discontent among allies who tell CNN they now wish for a more engaged and energetic senior senator.” – CNN
According to senior CNN correspondent Edward-Isaac Dovere, House members from California had little good to say about Feinstein. They described her as aloof and disengaged from the issues that matter most to state residents. They expressed bitterness over her lack of advice, collaboration, and proactive approach to tackling important issues.
Feinstein’s health has been a concern for some time. In March, she suffered from shingles that spread to her face and neck, causing vision and balance impairments, as well as facial paralysis. The virus also led to encephalitis, resulting in long-term memory and language problems, sleep disorders, confusion, mood disorders, and difficulties walking.
When Feinstein returned to the Senate in mid-May, she was in a wheelchair, with visible physical impairments. The New York Times reported that she seemed disoriented and complained audibly about something being stuck in her eye.

Feinstein’s lack of awareness is also concerning. When asked how her colleagues greeted her upon her return to work, she claimed she had never been gone. The mainstream media, which has long protected Feinstein, is now openly criticizing her, indicating a shift in liberal support.
One California House member, speaking anonymously, expressed frustration with the situation, stating that Californians deserve two responsive and active senators, which they currently lack.
A recent poll revealed that a majority of state voters believe Feinstein should resign. The survey showed that 63% think she should step down, while only 37% believe she should stay. Additionally, her job approval rating is low, with only 22% approving and 48% disapproving.
Meanwhile, California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) has initiated a “soft inquiry” to fill Feinstein’s seat in case she retires before the end of her term in 2025. Newsom is discreetly exploring potential candidates by asking if they would be interested in filling the seat if it becomes vacant.
Feinstein has already announced that she will not seek re-election in 2024, raising questions about whether she can maintain her position until her term ends in January 2025, given the growing dissatisfaction among voters and the liberal media.
