Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) called out Democrats’ apparent double standard on executive overreach. In an op-ed shared to Twitter, Paul slammed Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) for urging Joe Biden to use his executive power to declare a climate emergency.
I have consistently opposed Executive overreach, whether the abuse came from a Republican or a Democrat. Will any Democrats remember their previous opposition to executive overreach? https://t.co/fC39Vz97ho

He noted Schumer flip-flopped from his stance against President Trump taking the same approach on immigration. Paul claimed Democrats are willing to abandon the Constitution when one of their own is involved.

He said he warned Trump of the bad precedent his actions would set and now Democrats are doing the same. Paul said he wonders if any Democrats will stand up to Biden the way he himself has stood up to both parties.
