Florida Senator Warns Socialists and Communists: You’re Not Welcome Here

Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) has a message for socialists and communists: think twice before visiting or moving to Florida. In a video that has gone viral on Twitter, Scott emphasizes the importance of freedom, liberty, and capitalism, while cautioning against the perils of socialism.

Scott’s strong stance against socialism is not new. Last month, he issued a “travel advisory” stating that Floridians are openly hostile towards socialists and communists. He highlighted the dangers faced by socialists in Central and South Florida, where many residents have firsthand experience with the horrors of socialism in countries like Cuba and Venezuela.

The United States is home to approximately 2 million Cuban Americans, with a significant portion residing in Florida. According to the Pew Research Center, nearly half of Florida’s Hispanic population was born outside of the United States.

Despite rumors of a potential presidential run, Scott clarified that he intends to seek re-election for the Senate. Florida has always been a battleground state, and Scott’s strong stance against socialism resonates with many of its residents.
