Sen. Tim Scott Launches Presidential Exploratory Committee for 2024 Election

On April 12, Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) announced that he is launching a Presidential exploratory committee for the 2024 elections. He is one of the most high-profile Republicans who may run against former President Donald Trump for the Republican Party nomination.

In a video announcing his intentions, Scott said, “I know America is a land of opportunity, not a land of oppression. I know it because I’ve lived it.” He added that it pains him to see the Biden administration attacking the ladder of success that helped him climb, and warned that millions more families could be trapped in failing schools, crime-ridden neighborhoods, and crushing inflation if radical liberal policies are put in place.

He emphasized that he will always defend the conservative values that make America unique and exceptional, stating, “This is personal to me. I will never back down in defense of the conservative values that make America exceptional. And that’s why I’m announcing my exploratory committee for president of the United States.”

Scott did not mention Trump in his announcement video, but he criticized the current administration and other Democrats. He stated that his life “disproves their lies,” referring to Biden and the Democratic Party.

He also stressed that America is being tested yet again and that there are deep divisions and real threats to our future. He accused the Biden administration and radical left of promoting victimhood over personal responsibility and indoctrinating children.
