Sen. Tim Scott pledges to complete Biden investigation and replace Garland, Wray if elected President.
Sen. Tim Scott Vows to Restore Justice Department and FBI
Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), a presidential candidate, has made a bold promise to remove the current heads of the Justice Department and FBI if he is elected to the White House.
During a recent town hall forum hosted by Sean Hannity of Fox News, Scott was asked about his opinion on the controversial plea deal that Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, agreed to earlier that day.
Under the deal, Hunter Biden avoids jail time by pleading guilty to two tax misdemeanors and entering a probation agreement for a felony gun possession charge. This has sparked criticism from many Republicans who believe it is a lenient punishment compared to the treatment former President Donald Trump has received.
“Sad to say, I don’t believe right now in America that we have equal justice under law or equal application of our laws,” Hannity said. “I worry if we don’t have equal justice.”
Scott responded by stating, “We all know this, that the ‘Big Guy’ has some explaining to do, without any question,” referring to President Joe Biden’s alleged involvement in the Ukrainian energy company Burisma, where Hunter Biden served on its advisory board despite lacking experience in the energy industry.
He emphasized the importance of equal justice and the need for the Lady of Justice to wear a blindfold, symbolizing impartiality.
Scott also expressed gratitude towards Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) for their efforts in investigating the Biden family. He pledged to continue the probe if they are unable to complete it before his presidency.
In response to the demand for documents related to the investigation, the FBI provided a vague response, stating that the existence of such a document would only confirm the involvement of a confidential human source.
Scott assured the audience that if Grassley and Comer fail to complete the investigation, he will take charge as president and restore confidence and integrity in the Department of Justice by firing Joe Biden, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and FBI Director Christopher Wray.
Scott firmly believes in the importance of a just and fair justice system, and he is determined to make it a reality.
