The Senate failed to pass a bill protecting construction of the southern border wall.
In a 50-50 tie vote on Thursday, Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) joined Democrats in blocking efforts by fellow Republican Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) to stop the cancellation of border wall construction.
Not adopted, 50-50: Johnson Amendment #542 (Re: Prohibiting the cancellation of contracts for physical barriers on the border) in relation to S.Con.Res.5, Sanders Budget Resolution.

However, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) sided with Republicans on the bill. The tie essentially tabled the measure.
This came as the Biden administration signed an executive order ending development of the border wall.
