In a small victory for Senate Republicans, one of their proposed amendments was added to the budget resolution. Early Friday morning, Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) made the proposal to prevent a minimum wage increase during a pandemic, which was a cause many Democrats fought for in recent weeks.
Adopted, 51-50: S.Con.Res.5, Sanders Budget Resolution, as amended, with @VP voting in the affirmative.

The resolution was one of 800 amendments proposed by Republicans during what’s known as vote-a-rama, or a period of time following a vote where a slew of proposals makes it to the floor. Despite Democrats’ demands for the $15 spike, the amendment passed 99 to 1.
Tonight I got the entire Senate —Democrats and Republicans — to agree not to hike the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour during a global pandemic, which would kill jobs and destroy small businesses. https://t.co/otHBMQEsgJ
