Senior Citizens, Military Being Hit With Food Insecurity

Americans all over the country are feeling the pinch with inflation rising 0.5% monthly.
“I just officially gave up eggs,” FOX Business spoke to a senior citizen in Boston who said that buying 12 eggs from her local grocery store would have cost more than $5.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, (BLS), Inflation is at an all-time high of 6.5% from last year — and many people are seeing this reflected in food prices.

“Restaurant: Impossible” host Robert Irvine joined “Fox & Friends” Wednesday morning, to discuss serious issues surrounding food insecurity.
“You can actually dine out cheaper than you can buy food, dine in and cook it yourself,” Irvine.

Irvine told co-host Steve Doocy that seniors cannot afford meat and dairy — leading many to show up at food banks across the country.

“Food banks have got more business today than we’ve ever had,” Irvine stated.
Irvine stated that he has been helping over 1,000 military families who are financially challenged.

Irvine also viewed his new book. “Overcoming Impossible,” While offering his best advice for running a business in tough economic times.
His first tip was to build a team — and then to move to the next level.

Irvine suggested “empathetic leadership” Being able to truly listen to employees is a good mindset for business leaders.

Lastly, Irvine said to trust people to do their job — noting that leaders should not try to take credit for other people’s work.
“If you trust them to do their job, they will do it well,” He stated.
