House GOP’s Freedom Caucus shocks with unprecedented expulsion of member
Shocking Shake-Up in House GOP: Freedom Caucus Boots Member for First Time Ever
The House Freedom Caucus made a bold move last month by voting to expel GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia from the group.
This decision came after Greene publicly referred to fellow caucus member Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado as a “little b****” on the House floor.
Freedom Caucus board member Rep. Andy Harris of Maryland confirmed to Politico that a vote was taken to remove Greene from the House Freedom Caucus due to her actions.
When asked if she is formally out, Harris responded, “As far as I know, that is the way it is.”
Harris expressed his disapproval of Greene’s behavior, stating, “I think the way she referred to a fellow member was probably not the way we expect our members to refer to other fellow, especially female, members.” He deemed the expulsion “an appropriate action.”
According to Harris, frustration had been building within the group towards Greene. This frustration stemmed from her support of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s debt ceiling deal with President Joe Biden in May, as well as her early endorsement of McCarthy for speaker before the Freedom Caucus had secured the concessions they desired.
“I think all of that mattered,” Harris explained. “I think the straw that broke the camel’s back was publicly saying things about another member in terms that no one should.”
This marks the first time the Freedom Caucus has removed one of its members, as reported by Politico.
The incident involving the “little b****” comment occurred in late June when Greene was upset with Boebert for initiating floor action on articles of impeachment against Biden, as reported by The Hill.
Biden intentionally ceded command & control of our border to cartels. His dereliction of duty caused the deaths of over 900 Coloradans from fentanyl, enabled sex-trafficking, & allowed an invasion.

Greene had previously introduced similar articles of impeachment, which Boebert did not co-sponsor, according to Greene’s statement to Fox News.

Greene explained that she communicates with all of her Republican colleagues when introducing new legislation, but Boebert did not follow this practice.
“We had a tense conversation when she confronted me about things I had said about it,” Greene shared.
