Doja Cat feels liberated after losing 250K Instagram followers, triumphing over a formidable challenge.

Singer Doja Cat said ‍she’s not sad about losing a quarter million followers⁤ on‌ Instagram following a huge backlash from some posts she shared.

The 27-year-old star, whose real name is Amala Dlamini, made ‍waves last month after ⁢calling some of her ‌fanbase “creepy” for reportedly being obsessed with her.

“Seeing all these‌ people unfollow me makes me feel like I’ve ⁣defeated a large beast that’s been ⁢holding me down for so‍ long,”‍ the recording artist ⁤ posted in her Instagram ⁢stories.

“It feels like I ‌can reconnect with the ‍people‍ who⁣ really ‌matter and love me⁣ for who I am and not for who ⁣I was.‌ I⁣ feel free.”

As of Thursday morning, Doja⁤ Cat is down to ⁢25.1 million ⁢followers on the social ⁣media platform.

The controversy stems from a series⁢ of now-deleted tweets the singer posted earlier this month. Dlamini specifically took issue with ‌fans who dubbed⁣ themselves “Kittenz”⁣ as a way of distinguishing‌ themselves as being devoted to her.

“My fans don’t⁤ get to name themselves s***. If you call yourself a ‘kitten’ or f***ing ‘kittenz’ ‍that means you ‍need⁣ to ⁢get off⁢ your phone and⁤ get a job and help your parents with the house,” the Grammy ‌award winner wrote.

Dlamini⁢ went on to call out⁣ specific fans for their actions, including using her name⁣ for their accounts. “You making my government name your sn [screenname] is creepy as ⁤f***,” she posted about one follower.

When another follower asked what they should rename their account since Doja Cat didn’t like kitten, the singer replied, “Just delete the entire ‍account and rethink everything it’s never too late.”

A mass exodus of followers ⁢followed her posts.

That wasn’t the first time Doja ‍Cat lost mass followers on social ‍media. ‌Last year, fans rebelled when⁤ the “Say So” singer publicly blasted ‍“Stranger Things” actor Noah Schnapp for posting screenshots of their private DMs, as The Daily Wire previously reported.

“That’s like borderline snake s***, that’s like weasel s***,” she said in ⁤part of Schnapp’s actions.

Doja Cat later posted a message on Twitter seeming ⁣to address her⁤ critics‍ that ⁤said, “Y’all are⁣ so cringe and lame and nobody wants⁣ to hang w u [with you] that’s why y’all be on ‍here unironically⁢ writing replies to ⁣s*** that makes you mad.”
