Snapchat’s AI glitch prompts surge in searches on deleting the app.

A Recent Glitch on Snapchat Sparks Surge in Google Searches on How to Delete⁢ the App

A recent glitch on Snapchat has caused quite a stir, leading to a significant increase in users searching on Google for ways to delete the⁢ app. ⁣The incident occurred when the social media platform ⁤introduced a new account run entirely by ⁤artificial intelligence, known as “My ⁢AI.”

“My AI” made its debut on Tuesday, posting a photo of a blank wall ⁤meeting a blank ceiling on its story. However, shortly after, it stopped responding to messages, a feature previously handled by ⁣ChatGPT.

A spokesperson from Snapchat quickly addressed the ⁤issue, ‌stating,⁤ “My AI experienced a temporary⁣ outage that⁣ has now ⁣been resolved.”

Despite‍ the problem being‌ resolved, the aftermath was quite remarkable. The phrase “delete Snapchat” witnessed⁤ a⁤ staggering 1,239% increase in worldwide Google⁣ searches the following⁤ day. This surge in searches continued throughout the week, indicating the impact‌ of the glitch on ⁣user sentiment.

Interestingly, each ”My AI” account can be customized to ⁣some extent, allowing for a unique user experience. However, the posting of the⁣ same picture on every⁢ account’s story has sparked discussions about online privacy.

Concerns Over‌ Privacy and Legal⁢ Troubles

This incident⁢ is not the first time Snapchat ‍has ‍faced privacy-related issues. Last year, the platform reportedly settled a $35 million class-action lawsuit in Illinois. ⁤The lawsuit accused Snapchat of violating the Illinois Biometric⁤ Information Privacy ‍Act ⁣through its use of facial recognition technology.

With a staggering 397 million daily active accounts on the platform, Snapchat⁢ continues to navigate the challenges of maintaining user trust and privacy.
