IOWA UNEMPLOYMENT INCREASE RANKED THIRD HIGHEST IN NATION
Beneficiaries receive payments on the first day of each month, except when the first day falls on a weekend or holiday. In those cases, payments are issued on the last business day before the month begins.
Don’t worry if some months have two payments and others have none. The adjusted schedule ensures that beneficiaries receive 12 checks per year.
Keep in mind that there are several months this year when two payments will be delivered in the same month: March, June, September, and December. This is because the first of the month falls on a weekend in April, July, and October, and the first of January is always a holiday.
Did you know that SSI payments have been issued since January 1974? Payment rates have increased for cost-of-living adjustments since 1975, according to the Social Security Administration.
