“Since SOUND ‍OF FREEDOM launched in the US, demand has been building around the world in dozens of regions and languages,” stated Jared ‌Geesey, senior vice president of global distribution for Angel Studios. “Child trafficking is a global issue, and we hope ⁤to build on the incredible momentum here in the states and share⁣ the film’s powerful message worldwide.”

As of Wednesday, Sound of Freedom has amassed an ‌impressive $127 million at the domestic box office since its release on July 4. The film tells the extraordinary true story of Tim Ballard, a former Homeland Security agent ‌who courageously left his⁣ position to embark on a perilous journey ⁢into the Colombian jungles. His mission ‍was to rescue children from the clutches of sex slavery. Portrayed by⁣ Jim Caviezel, renowned for his portrayal of Jesus in Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ, ⁢Ballard’s ⁣heroic efforts are brought to life on the big screen.

Former ⁤President ⁢Donald Trump hosted a special screening of Sound of Freedom ‍at his New Jersey golf course on ‌July 19. During the screening, Trump also made a campaign promise to combat the child trafficking crisis by utilizing Title 42, a policy enacted during ⁤his ‌administration. This policy allowed Border Patrol to expel immigrants without⁢ granting them an asylum ⁣hearing, with the aim of swiftly reuniting trafficked children with their families in their home countries.
