South Korean President Meets with Tesla CEO to Discuss Investment Opportunities

The South Korean President, Yoon Suk Yeol, recently met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk in Washington to discuss investment opportunities in the country. During his six-day state visit to the US, Yoon touted South Korea as an ideal location for Tesla to build a gigafactory, citing the country’s cutting-edge industrial robots and highly skilled workers. He also offered tax benefits and other forms of support to attract the EV maker’s manufacturing plant.

Musk responded positively, stating that South Korea remains one of the top candidates for Tesla’s Gigafactories and that he would consider visiting the Asian country. This news comes after Yoon’s previous video call with Musk in November, during which he promised tailored incentives and minimized risks posed by militant unions to encourage Tesla’s investment.
