Speaker Johnson aims to maintain momentum while advocating for the Border Security Bill.
House Speaker Mike Johnson Takes Action on Border Security
House Speaker Mike Johnson wasted no time in making his mark after assuming the role from Kevin McCarthy. In his first act as speaker, Johnson brought a resolution to the floor condemning the recent Hamas terror attacks and reaffirming U.S. support for Israel.
This week, Johnson is focusing on the country’s southern border. In an interview on Fox Business Network’s “Kudlow,” he expressed concerns about the flow of illegal immigrants and the potential threat they pose to Americans.
Johnson pointed out that even Democrats, including Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, are acknowledging the risk of international terrorists entering the U.S. through the porous border.
FBI Director Christopher Wray also warned Congress about the increased risk of terror attacks in the country. Johnson emphasized that keeping the border open allows dangerous individuals to enter, creating chaos and putting Americans at risk.
Johnson criticized Democrats for ignoring the border crisis until recently and vowed to take action. He shared a clip of the interview on social media, promoting a bill to secure the border, finish the border wall, end the “catch and release” policy, and reinstate the “remain in Mexico” policy.
The border crisis is a direct result of failed policy decisions by the Biden Admin – not a lack of funding.
HR 2 would:
- Finish the wall
- End catch and release
- End abuse of parole authority
- Reform the broken asylum system
- Restart Remain in Mexico pic.twitter.com/8XZdqJih5x

The Secure the Border Act of 2023, the bill Johnson is promoting, was passed by the House in May. Johnson called it the most comprehensive border security legislation in decades and urged the Senate to take it up immediately.
A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:
I walked into the office one morning and noticed something strange. Half of The Western Journal’s readership was missing.
It had finally happened. Facebook had flipped THE switch.
Maybe it was because we wrote about ivermectin. Or election integrity. Or the Jan. 6 detainees. Or ballot mules.
Whatever the reason, I immediately knew what to do. We had to turn to you because, frankly, we know you are the only ones we can trust.
Can you help? Every donation to The Western Journal goes directly to funding our team of story researchers, writers and editors who doggedly pursue the truth and expose the corrupt elites.
Can I count on you for a small donation? We operate on a shoestring compared to other news media companies, so I can personally promise that not a penny of your donation will be wasted.
We will use every single cent to fight against the lies and corruption in high places. And as long as we have your help, we will never give up.
Sincerely,

How are Democrats, such as Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, acknowledging the risk of international terrorists entering the United States through the porous border?
With House Speaker Mike Johnson taking swift action on various issues since assuming his role, one of his primary concerns lies with the country’s southern border. In an interview on Fox Business Network’s “Kudlow,” Johnson expressed his worries about the influx of illegal immigrants and the potential threats they pose to American citizens.
What is particularly noteworthy is that even Democrats, including Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, are acknowledging the risk of international terrorists entering the United States through the porous border. FBI Director Christopher Wray also warned Congress about the increased risk of terror attacks in the country. Johnson stressed that keeping the border open allows dangerous individuals to enter, which creates chaos and puts Americans at risk.
Moreover, Johnson criticized Democrats for their failure to address the border crisis until recently. In response, he shared a clip of the aforementioned interview on social media, where he promoted a bill aimed at securing the border, completing the border wall, ending the “catch and release” policy, and reinstating the “remain in Mexico” policy.
The Secure the Border Act of 2023, the bill Johnson is advocating for, was passed by the House in May. Johnson has described it as the most comprehensive border security legislation in decades and has urged the Senate to take it up immediately.
In other news, a peculiar incident occurred at The Western Journal, where half of its readership seemed to have vanished overnight. This turn of events was attributed to Facebook making changes to their algorithms, affecting the visibility of certain content.
As House Speaker Mike Johnson tackles the important issue of border security, it is evident that action needs to be taken to address the potential threats and risks associated with illegal immigration. With bipartisan acknowledgment of these concerns, it is crucial for legislation like the Secure the Border Act of 2023 to be given prompt attention and consideration, ensuring the safety of American citizens remains a top priority.
