Special Counsel investigating Biden documents may possess evidence of influence-peddling, and Comer seeks access.

House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer ⁤is deeply concerned about the classified documents hidden by President Joe Biden,⁤ which were found in his Penn Biden Center office and Delaware garage. ⁤These documents allegedly contain information about foreign business deals that enriched the Biden family by millions of ⁢dollars during ⁣the Obama administration.

In a bold move, Comer has written a letter to Special Counsel Robert Hur, urging him to share the documents​ and testimonies he collected during his investigation of Biden’s document scandal. Comer ⁣wants the committee to continue their investigation into what appears to be ‌a pay-for-play scheme involving the first family.

Hur, who was​ initially tasked with investigating Biden’s improper storage of recently ⁢discovered documents, interviewed Biden about the classified cache last week. Comer insists that ​the⁤ recovered documents, reports, agents’ notes, and lists of countries and people named ⁤in the classified papers should be provided to the committee without any redactions.

Comer also wants⁤ Hur to disclose any ‌limitations that​ may‌ have hindered a thorough investigation. Specifically, the committee wants to know if Hur was able to inquire about the explosive evidence of Biden’s corruption obtained by the⁣ U.S. Attorney’s Office⁢ for ‍the District of Delaware and publicized by ‌IRS whistleblowers.

Comer emphasizes that Hur’s interviews with Biden and other individuals involved in the ⁤matter are⁣ crucial for⁤ the committee’s investigation into the Biden family business.

“If any of the classified documents mishandled by President Biden ‍involved countries or individuals that⁢ had financial⁢ dealings with Biden family members or their related companies, the Committee​ needs access to that information⁢ to ⁢evaluate whether our national security has been compromised,” Comer wrote.

Previous investigations by House Republicans​ have revealed that the Biden family received millions of dollars from individuals and companies in China, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and ​Romania while Biden was vice president. The House Ways and Means Committee has even​ linked the Biden family’s global ⁤influence peddling operation⁣ to more than twenty-three countries on four different⁢ continents.

“Evidence suggests President Biden may have used certain‍ members of his family—particularly his son, Hunter Biden—to accumulate millions of dollars from foreign individuals and entities for the benefit of his family and himself,” Comer wrote.

Comer and​ the ⁣Republicans on the Oversight ⁤Committee have already gathered significant ‌evidence through witness testimony, emails, and text messages, indicating that White House staff had‌ coordinated access to classified documents from Biden’s vice presidency.

According to the committee’s findings,⁣ several White House employees, a Department of Defense employee, and Biden’s attorneys acquired documents from Biden’s classified cache between⁣ 2021 ‌and October 2022. These documents were ⁢supposedly personal and‌ not subject to the Presidential Records Act.

“The evidence shows the White House was concerned about potential document retention issues prior to November 2, 2022, and used ⁣significant government resources ‌to obtain the material,” Comer wrote.

Comer⁣ points out that not only has there been no reasonable explanation provided for the ​staff’s‍ involvement, but Biden himself has not been fully⁢ transparent⁢ about the White ​House’s ‌role in accessing these materials.

“Of all the classified documents he reviewed over his lengthy career, why did President Biden choose to keep these specific documents in his home and office?” Comer questions. “The sensitive nature of the information contained in the documents may‍ provide answers, which⁢ is why we ‍seek to review those ​materials.”

An Oversight Committee timeline outlining the discovery of the documents appears to‌ contradict Biden’s claim that ⁤”there is no ‘there’ ‌there.” Legal expert Jonathan Turley recently warned that the “new evidence may destroy Biden’s defense in his classified documents case.”
