Trump Faces Additional Charges for Mishandling Classified Documents

Special Counsel Jack Smith, who turned‍ a blind eye to Biden family corruption as head‌ of the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) public integrity section during the Obama administration, slapped three additional charges on former President Donald ‌Trump on Thursday for his alleged mishandling of classified documents. The department has also added a Mar-a-Lago maintenance worker⁣ to the original​ indictment.

“This is ⁣nothing more than a‍ continued desperate and flailing attempt by the Biden Crime Family and their Department of Justice to harass President Trump and those around him,” the⁤ Trump campaign wrote in a statement. “Deranged Jack Smith knows that they have no case and is casting ⁢about for any way to salvage their ‌illegal witch hunt and to get someone other than Donald Trump to run ​against Crooked Joe Biden.”

In addition to the 37 federal counts Trump is already facing, the DOJ⁣ announced it is ⁢charging Trump with one count of willful retention of national defense information based on the July⁢ 2021 Bedminster audio tape, which was already ⁢included in the original indictment. The department is also charging Trump with two new counts of obstruction for allegedly attempting to delete⁢ security ⁣footage at his ​home in Palm Beach, Florida, last summer around the time ‍of the infamous Mar-a-Lago raid, where, according to the Trump family, federal agents aggressively searched Melania Trump’s wardrobe and Barron Trump’s underwear drawer.

Newly added to the indictment ⁤is Carlos De Oliveira, Trump’s property manager. The DOJ alleges De Oliveira aided the president ⁢in deleting the aforementioned surveillance‌ footage and gave false ⁢statements to the FBI during a voluntary interview on Jan. 13 this year.

Former Vice Presidents Joe Biden and Mike Pence have also kept classified documents, despite neither man having ⁤had the power to declassify documents. Yet they have not faced any charges. Additionally, while Trump’s‌ classified documents were kept in his private Mar-a-Lago home protected ​by the Secret Service, Biden’s classified documents have reportedly been found in his garage in Delaware and at the Penn Biden Center, a busy D.C. office building that spans “some 10 stories and included numerous public areas,” writes The⁢ Federalist’s Margot Cleveland.

The same day the⁢ Justice ‌Department ‌added more charges to the Trump indictment, ⁤it dropped the campaign finance charge against Democrat mega-donor (only outspent by George Soros) Sam Bankman-Fried. Bankman-Fried, the CEO of the former multibillion-dollar Ponzi scheme, FTX, defrauded millions of people, many of whom were small-time, everyday investors.

On Wednesday, Hunter Biden’s sweetheart plea deal unraveled, apparently in part because his lawyers realized the judge wouldn’t agree to a deal that would “protect [Hunter] from future prosecution related to corrupt ‌foreign​ business deals in Ukraine and ⁤China that involved⁢ trading on his family name,”⁣ explains The Federalist John Daniel Davidson.

“It is no coincidence that the day after a federal judge throws​ out Hunter Biden’s corrupt, sweetheart plea bargain, Biden’s weaponized DOJ continues its witch hunt against President Trump,” Chairwoman of the​ House Republican Conference Elise Stefanik said in a statement. “Our Republic is in peril, our justice system is broken.”
