Stabbed Rand Paul Staffer Fortunately Expected to Make Full Recovery
Phillip Todd, a staffer for Senator Rand Paul, was attacked by a knife-wielding man in Washington, D.C. last weekend but fortunately, his parents confirmed that he is expected to make a full recovery. According to a statement released by Chuck and Helen Todd on Wednesday, they requested privacy so that they can focus on their son’s rehabilitation. Phillip’s friend, who was with him at the time, prevented the wound from becoming fatal. The Metropolitan Police Department stated that he sustained injuries to his head, ear, torso, and lungs. The suspect, Glynn Neal, has been arrested and charged with assault with intent to kill using a knife.
Despite undergoing trauma surgery to address his injuries, which includes a fracture on his skull, Phillip is in a stable condition and is expected to fully recover due to his young age and good health. His parents expressed their gratitude to Paul and his chief of staff for their personal visit to their son, as well as to the hospital staff, police, and first responders. They also thanked the Antioch Church for their prayers and everyone who offered to help.
Phillip and his family draw their strength from their faith to see them through this challenging time, as he repeatedly stated, “the joy of the Lord is my strength” (Nehemiah 8:10).
