Staffer for Sen. Rand Paul ‘Brutally’ Attacked

According to a statement from Sen. Rand Paul’s ( R-Ky. ) office, an employee of that office was attacked in Washington, D.C.

Paul claimed that a person of his people” was viciously attacked in broad daylight in Washington, D.C.” over the weekend in an interview with media.

He continued,” I beg you to join Kelley and me in praying for a quick and full recovery and expressing our gratitude to the hospital staff, police, and first responders.”

We’re happy to hear that the believe was taken into custody. We did request privacy at this time so that everyone could concentrate on healing and recovery.

The Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia( MPD) announced in a statement on Monday that the incident occurred on March 25 and that authorities were sent to the 1300 block of H Street, Northeast, at 5:17 p.m. in response to reports of stabbing.

For” treatment of life-threatening injuries ,” the victim was taken to a hospital.

As of late Monday, there had been no new information regarding the staffer’s situation.

On the same day of the incident, 42-year-old Glynn Neal was taken into custody. According to the MPD speech, he was accused of assault with the intent to kill with a weapon.

According to a release( pdf ) from the Department of Justice, Neal had been sentenced in 2011 to more than 12 years in prison for forcing two women to engage in prostitution.
