In a TikTok video shared during the Democratic National Committee’s convention, “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill issued a warning against supporting former President Donald Trump. Speaking alongside DNC Chairman Jaime Harrison, Hamill emphasized the importance of the upcoming election in November. He compared the fictional battles he fought as Luke Skywalker to the real challenges facing society today, urging viewers not to “go to the orange side,” a reference to Trump. Star Wars actor Mark Hamill made a swipe at former President Donald Trump in a TikTok video alongside Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison on Monday during the first day of the party’s national convention.
“We’ve got an important election coming up in November; have you got a message for everybody out there?” Harrison said to Hamill while standing in front of a DNC sign.
“Yes,” Hamill said.
“You got a message for everybody out there?” Harrison asked in a rehearsed fashion.
“In the movies, I fought against make-believe evil. But we’re at a time in history where we’re fighting against real evil,” the actor, known for his legendary role of Luke Skywalker, said.
Hamill then added, “So I beg you, please don’t go to the orange side.”
As the actor dramatically pointed at the camera, Harrison pulled out a lightsaber ready to fight while the soundtrack of Star Wars played.
The 72-year-old actor continued his attacks on Republican fans in a social media post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
“My message to Jaime Harrison: The Force is strong with #HarrisWalz & the Democratic Party,” Hamill wrote, adding, “My message to MAGA: Go FORCE Yourself.”
Chaya Raichik said on her “Libs of TikTok” account that Hamill was “suffering serious TDS,” an acronym referencing the phrase “Trump derangement syndrome.”
The Hollywood star has been a vocal supporter of Democratic causes and previously did a three-hour virtual rally via Zoom called “White Dudes for Harris” with other actors, including Sean Astin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Jeff Bridges to, raise over $4.2 million for the Harris campaign.
