(Reuters)

The U.S. State Department has issued a⁤ “worldwide caution” alert in light of “increased tensions” across ‌the world.

“Due to increased tensions ⁤in various locations around the world, the potential for ‌terrorist attacks, demonstrations or violent actions against U.S.‍ citizens‍ and interests, the Department of State advises‍ U.S. citizens overseas to exercise increased caution,” the memo on the agency’s website reads.

The alert comes as pro-Hamas and anti-Semitic ‌rallies and riots have sprung up in the United States and around the world. A historic synagogue in Tunisia was left with ⁢serious damage this week after riots ‍over Israel’s war with Hamas.

The State Department also listed a travel advisory for Lebanon, telling Americans, “Do Not ‍Travel.”

The ‌advisory warns of “the unpredictable security⁢ situation⁢ related to rocket, missile and artillery exchanges between Israel and Hezbollah or other armed militant factions.”
