Stefanik shames Harris and Democratic leaders for ‘out loud’ attacks on GOP women – Washington Examiner
Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) criticized Vice President Kamala Harris and her campaign for not addressing derogatory remarks made by Mark Cuban about Republican women. In an appearance on “Fox News Sunday,” Stefanik expressed disappointment that Harris failed to condemn Cuban’s suggestion that Donald Trump does not surround himself with intelligent women. She highlighted a pattern of what she perceives as Democrats voicing offensive beliefs about Republicans, referencing prior insults like “deplorables” and “Nazis.” Stefanik argued that Cuban’s comments were offensive to American women and called on Harris to denounce such rhetoric, indicating that the campaign’s silence on the matter reflects poorly on them.
Stefanik shames Harris and Democratic leaders for ‘out loud’ attacks on GOP women
Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) condemned personal attacks from Mark Cuban after his online apology.
With Election Day two days away, Kamala Harris and her campaign have largely avoided the topic of her surrogates speaking poorly of the Republican Party. Stefanik appeared on Fox News Sunday to share her disappointment that Harris did not speak out when Cuban implied that Donald Trump purposefully doesn’t surround himself with women who challenge him.
“I think it’s certainly, I think, a trend that Democrats are saying out loud what they really believe. First, ‘deplorables,’ then they called us ‘Nazis,’ then Mark Cuban said there are no strong or intelligent women around President Trump,” Elise said. “And they’re attacking American people and voters with that rhetoric.”
“Kamala Harris should have condemned that, and they didn’t. Their campaign failed to do that. That is offensive to some of the women across the country,” Stefanik went on.
Cuban is making the rounds in media interviews and rallies on Harris’s behalf. In Cuban’s attempt to persuade the audience of The View to Harris’s side, he attacked her opponent, former President Donald Trump, saying he is scared of “strong, intelligent women.”
“Donald Trump, you never see him around strong, intelligent women, ever. It’s just that simple. They are intimidating to him. He doesn’t like to be challenged by them,” Cuban said.
He later clarified on X that, “I didn’t get it out exactly the way I thought I did. So I apologize to anyone who felt slighted or upset by my response.”
“As I said, it wasn’t about trump voters, supporters or employees. Current or former And, I set myself up for the 6 sec soundbite. No excuses. Can’t nail every interview. My skin is thick enough,” Cuban wrote.
Stefanik pointed to Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump and Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R-AR) as “strong, intelligent women” currently on the campaign trail with Trump.
