Stephen Kruiser: Hey Democrats — Learn How to Read Without an Emotional Support Drag Queen

There was a time when parents in the United States could send their children to public school without fear of them being subjected to a “drag queen story hour.” My own K-12 experience was divided between Catholic school and public school. While the public schools I attended were fine, I am forever grateful for my Catholic education in which the nuns taught me the fundamentals of reading, writing, and arithmetic without being overly concerned about my self-esteem.

Phonics was the main method we used to learn how to read. It’s a proven method that has worked for a long time. However, in the minds of American leftists, phonics has been replaced by what’s called a “drag queen story hour” as the preferred method of getting kids excited about reading. It’s almost as if they can’t read without the help of guys wearing garish makeup and feminine clothing. But I believe if I were forced to endure that, I’d lose my appetite for weeks.

My biggest issue with drag queens is that they believe they’re talented entertainers when they are not. Dancing poorly while dressed in a clown-like costume isn’t a skill. If they could actually dance, they wouldn’t need the costume. Drag queens are just attention-seekers who have found an easy entry into the world of faux entertainment. If they tried stand-up comedy, they’d just be prop comics.

It’s no surprise that people who attend drag shows aren’t typically avid readers. If they do have books, they’re often self-help or diet books that aren’t read. Attending drag shows makes them feel woke and inclusive, but it’s not a substitute for genuine kindness and concern for others.

Democrats seem to be defending drag queen story hours so passionately that it raises questions about their readiness to read without an emotional support drag queen. Defending drag queens for kids, while blurring the lines between adults and children and eroding the moral absolutes, is a disturbing trend. The fact that many drag queen fans are also okay with Joe Biden’s inappropriate behavior toward children is even more alarming.

The drag-queens-for-kids advocates are pervy, weird, and the greatest reason yet to hope that we’re all part of a simulation and this game is about to end. Democrats should heed this advice: Learn how to read, forget about the drag queens, and focus on core issues that matter.
