Stephen Miller reveals executive orders Trump will sign on Day 1 blitz

As President-elect Donald Trump is set to be inaugurated as the 47th president in just one day, one of his top policy advisers, Stephen Miller, met with Republican leadership in Congress on Sunday to discuss what executive orders Trump will sign once he takes office.

According to a report, five of the 10 executive orders are focused on the southern border, an issue that Trump hammered on the campaign trail last year and which has been the subject of much debate in the run-up to his inauguration. The rest are mostly devoted to energy policy, including declaring a national energy emergency, green-lighting offshore and Arctic drilling, and expediting pipeline licensing and construction. The last two are on reforms to remove government employees and removing DEI and gender-related orders held over from the Biden administration.

The executive orders on the border include some familiar promises Trump made on the campaign trail, including reinstating his signature “Remain in Mexico” policy. The other border-related orders he will sign are declaring an emergency at the southern border, classifying cartels as foreign terrorist organizations, ending “catch-and-release” policies, and preparing the U.S. military to deploy to the border.

Miller previewed some of these executive orders at Trump’s inauguration eve rally at Capital One Arena on Sunday afternoon.

“He has always been fighting for all of us. And what is that going to look like come Monday afternoon, it’s going to mean an executive order ending the border invasion, sending illegals home and taking America back. It’s going to mean the eradication of the criminal cartels and the foreign gangs who are preying on our people, and it’s going to mean justice for every American citizen who has lost a loved one to an illegal alien,” he said.
