Wisconsin recipients to receive $500 direct payment today
A Guaranteed Income Program in Wisconsin
A guaranteed income program in Wisconsin is set to issue its latest payment, worth $500, to recipients on Friday. This program, known as the Madison Forward Fund, provides monthly payments to 155 households in Madison, Wisconsin. Recipients have the freedom to spend the money as they see fit.
Survey Participation and Compensation
Every six months, recipients are asked to complete confidential online surveys, which typically take about 30 minutes. For each survey completed, recipients are compensated $30. This ensures that their valuable feedback is rewarded.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the payment, recipients must be residents of Madison, at least 18 years old, and have at least one child aged 17 or younger living with them. Additionally, their annual income must be below 200% of the federal poverty level, which varies based on household size.
- Household of two: Annual income must be below $36,620
- Household of eight: Annual income must be below $93,260
Payment Schedule and Program Duration
While payments are typically issued on the first day of each month, this month’s payment is being issued a day earlier on Friday due to July 1 falling on a Saturday. The program manager has confirmed that the program will last for one year, with the first payment issued in September of the previous year and the final payment scheduled for this August.
Opportunities for Participation
Currently, only 155 families are receiving the monthly payments. However, an additional 200 families have been given the opportunity to participate in the surveys. This allows for a broader range of perspectives and experiences to be included in the program.
