Stimulus update: Deadline to apply for California city’s $500 guaranteed income program is today

Saturday is the final day to apply for a guaranteed income program in El Monte, California, that will provide $500 monthly payments to recipients.

The program, which will choose 125 applicants in the city — which is home to more than 100,000 people — is designed to assist mothers.

A place manager’s’s work representative informed the Washington Examiner that” people selected to participate in the program may be issued a debit card.”

The city will charge$ 500 to the debit card each month. It can be used by people to make purchases of goods and services at any business that accepts payment accounts. Participants will receive instruction from the town on how to use their bank cards.

According to the city site, functions for this system have been accepted since March 27 and close on Saturday.

An applicant must reside in El Monte, become a solitary female head of household with no spouse or partner present, and have children under the age of 17 in order to be considered. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate that their profits is at or below the national poverty line, be able to demonstrate their need for financial aid as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, and distribute paperwork proving their enrollment in school, residency status, income, or government-issued identification cards.

The community anticipates receiving the first transaction on June 1 after selecting the beneficiaries of this guaranteed income program by April 26.
