Truck thief caught in Corona after 3-county chase.
Stolen Truck Suspect Leads Police on Wild Chase Through Three Counties
In a thrilling and daring pursuit that spanned three counties, a suspect in a stolen truck wreaked havoc on the roads. The heart-pounding chase began in La Habra and took law enforcement through Orange County, Chino Hills, Ontario, and finally into Riverside County.
The suspect showed no mercy, ramming into police cars and even driving the wrong way on the Riverside 91 Freeway. But the adrenaline-fueled pursuit didn’t end there. In Corona, the suspect backed into a La Habra Police Department cruiser not once, but twice. Eventually, the suspect found themselves cornered by three police vehicles at Maple and Sixth streets in Corona.
With nowhere to go, the suspect made a daring move, plowing through trees and over a fence into a business’ parking lot. The chase seemed like something out of a Hollywood action movie.
The intensity reached its peak when the suspect made a daring leap, driving the stolen truck over an embankment and onto the westbound lanes of the Riverside Freeway. Against oncoming traffic, with the chainlink fence dragging behind and smoke billowing from the tires, the suspect displayed nerves of steel.
But the chase took an unexpected turn when the suspect abandoned the truck on the freeway. Undeterred, they sprinted across both the westbound and eastbound portions of the freeway, leaving behind a wig in the process. Seeking refuge, the suspect found themselves in the parking lot of a Denny’s restaurant.
Law enforcement swiftly apprehended the suspect after conducting a thorough search of the restaurant. The suspect’s condition remains unknown as they were taken to a hospital for evaluation.
