Brian Cox, star of ‘Succession,’ criticizes ‘woke culture.’

“Succession” Star Brian Cox Slams “Woke Culture” and Millennials

In a recent interview on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” legendary actor Brian Cox, known for his role in “Succession,” expressed his disdain for “woke culture” and the influence of millennials online. Cox criticized the trend of shaming and canceling individuals who hold different opinions.

When asked about the current state of the world and the role of social media in exacerbating issues, Cox agreed that platforms like social media hinder rather than help. He described the “woke culture” as “truly awful” and highlighted the incessant need to shame and bury people.

Both Cox and Morgan agreed on the negative impact of the “shaming culture.” Cox questioned the origin of this trend and identified millennials as the usual arbiters of shaming. He expressed his confusion about their authority and difficulty in pinning them down.

Cox speculated that millennials might feel compelled to take action due to the perceived mistakes of previous generations. However, he emphasized that their approach stems from the wrong principles and motivations.

Morgan questioned who gave millennials the authority to shame others, to which Cox had no answer. Cox previously defended J.K. Rowling, the author of the “Harry Potter” series, against her critics who disagreed with her support of biological women. He believed that Rowling was entitled to her opinion and expressed his disapproval of the treatment she received.

Furthermore, Cox has criticized the censorship of works like Roald Dahl’s novels by the woke culture, deeming it “disgraceful.” He firmly believes that rewriting literature to align with a specific moral code is unacceptable.
