‘Such A Tiresome Flog’: Americans Unite In Calls To Send Prince Harry Back Over First Amendment Comments
Britain’s quasi-expat Prince Harry has accomplished what President Joe Biden hasn’t, uniting Americans in calls to send him back to the United Kingdom.
Harry, during an interview on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast, referred to the free speech protections covered by the First Amendment as “bonkers” — and he riled up more than a few critics who proceeded to exercise those rights in his direction. Former Daily Caller reporter Amber Athey joined “Good Morning Britain” and asked that the UK “please take Prince Harry back!”

Fox News hosts Greg Gutfeld and Jesse Watters mocked Prince Harry on Monday’s broadcast of “The Five.” Watters suggested that Harry should “see a shrink” and maybe dial back his media presence, while Gutfeld argued that he and pregnant wife Meghan Markle did not appear to be avoiding the paparazzi they claimed to hate.
“‘I know what I’ll do. I’ll move to Hollywood with a fame-hungry actress,’” Gutfeld said in mocking tones.

On Fox & Friends I said Prince Harry is whipped by a mediocre actress, should be dumped in Boston harbor, then tarred and feathered and sent back to his grandmother. I can do that because of the “bonkers” First Amendment.

We fought a war in 1776 so we don’t have to care what you say or think.
That being said, you have chosen to seek refuge from your homeland here and thrive because all of what our country has to offer and one of the biggest things is the 1st amendment – show some utter respect. https://t.co/Xy1aU988Ui

Piers Morgan, a regular critic of both Harry and Markle, also weighed in on the prince’s comments.

I didn’t think Harry could go lower than trashing his grandmother as she mourns Prince Philip, but the spineless self-pitying twerp’s attack on free speech makes HIM look bonkers not the US Constitution. https://t.co/twC5aSVP6m pic.twitter.com/XK8lfhMCEK— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) May 17, 2021
Several argued that the real problem was not just Harry’s assessment but the fact that there were Americans who agreed with it.
“Prince Harry calls First Amendment ‘bonkers.’” They call it the FIRST amendment for a reason: take away our right to speak without fear against those in power and elite bastards win. Hard for royals and totalitarian wannabes to get…or maybe they do. https://t.co/vyHypJkejA

Harry isn’t the problem, though. It’s the many Americans who actually agree with him that the First Amendment is bonkers.https://t.co/C75buCTO25
