Suds, Skirts, And Sneakers: Here Are The Brands That Have Sponsored Trans Activist Dylan Mulvaney
Dylan Mulvaney, a popular social media personality and transgender activist, has recently faced criticism for his various sponsorships and brand deals that feature his transition into girlhood. Despite being a man who identifies as a woman, Mulvaney has managed to amass a significant following on TikTok over the past few months.
One of his sponsorships, for Bud Light’s March Madness contest, has earned criticism for being seemingly unrelated to college basketball and transgenderism. Bud Light confirmed its partnership with Mulvaney on Tuesday, stating that it hopes to “authentically connect” with customers.
Other brand deals have also stirred controversy, such as his partnerships with makeup brand Ulta Beauty and fashion house Kate Spade, which some people accused Mulvaney of insulting women. Ulta Beauty faced backlash after hosting Mulvaney on its podcast with a “gender-fluid” hairdresser. Kate Spade featured Mulvaney shopping for the “perfect spring outfit.”
Aside from corporate entities, Mulvaney has also earned support from senior government officials, including President Joe Biden. He even shared social media posts promoting brands like Nike Women and skin care brand CeraVe.
Some critics, such as Daily Wire host Matt Walsh, have argued that transgenderism is an inherently precarious movement that requires constant validation, as its assumptions are constantly on the verge of collapse.
