Sununu and Trump disagree on 2024 presidential race.
New Hampshire Governor Takes Shots at Former President, Trump Fires Back
New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu didn’t hold back in his criticism of former President Donald Trump, sparking a heated exchange on social media.
Sununu made his remarks during an interview on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show, where he questioned the significance of national polls and emphasized the importance of New Hampshire and Iowa in determining the Republican primary winner.
“So, national polls, I get national polls. But where’s the conversation really happening? New Hampshire and Iowa.”
“He’s, I think, three of the last four polls, I think, out, from Real Clear Politics, has him under 40, right? I think he’s averaging like 44% or something in Iowa.”
Sununu acknowledged that some Republicans still support Trump due to his past accomplishments, but argued that it doesn’t necessarily make him the best candidate for the job.
During an interview on Fox News, Sununu continued his critique of the former president, highlighting Trump’s lackluster performance in Iowa, his use of campaign donor money for legal bills, and the significance of an incumbent polling below 40% in early states.

In response, Trump took to social media to fire back at Sununu, dismissing him as a ”RINO” (Republican In Name Only) and claiming that Sununu has no chance of winning the presidency.
Trump wrote, “The people of New Hampshire have gotten wise to Chris Sununu, and they no longer like or respect him. I never liked him, but always did whatever he asked for the State, because I wanted to help New Hampshire, and I did!”
Despite the exchange, recent polling shows that Sununu remains the fourth most popular governor in the country, while Trump maintains his position as the GOP frontrunner in the latest polls.
