Sununu foresees two potential obstacles preventing Biden from becoming Democratic nominee.
New Hampshire Governor Predicts Biden Won’t Be Democratic Party Nominee in 2024
New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu made a bold statement during a recent interview, suggesting that President Joe Biden may not be the Democratic Party nominee in 2024.
Speaking to Fox News host Sandra Smith, Sununu expressed his belief that there is a greater than 50 percent chance Biden won’t be on the ballot come November of ’24. He presented two possible scenarios for this outcome.
Scenario 1: Biden Steps Aside
Sununu speculated that Biden could potentially go through the primary process unchallenged, collecting all the delegates. However, he suggested that Biden’s health could become a factor, providing him with a reason to step aside and endorse another candidate, effectively becoming the “kingmaker.” Sununu acknowledged that such manipulation of the convention wouldn’t be unprecedented for the Democrats.
Scenario 2: A Businessman Challenger
The governor also predicted the possibility of a successful businessman entering the race and challenging Biden in the primaries. Sununu emphasized that this challenger would likely be a self-funder with national name recognition, potentially someone outside the realm of politics.
While Sununu didn’t expect any Democratic governors to challenge Biden this fall, he anticipated at least one or two individuals jumping into the race in New Hampshire, aiming to make a run for the nomination.
