Superman’s Dean Cain lauds boy expelled for ‘Don’t Tread On Me’ patch.
Actor Dean Cain Praises 12-Year-Old Boy for Standing Up for What’s Right
The 12-year-old boy who recently faced temporary expulsion from school due to a patch on his backpack has garnered the support and praise of actor Dean Cain, famously known for his portrayal of Superman in the 1990s.
Cain took to social media to commend the young boy, named Jaiden, for his courage in standing up for his beliefs. “Good job, Jaiden,” Cain wrote. “It takes bravery to stand alone for what is right.”
The incident gained widespread attention after footage of Jaiden’s mother confronting a school official went viral. As a result, the Vanguard School Board of Directors ultimately sided with Jaiden and his mother, allowing him to return to class.
The school initially claimed that the “Don’t Tread On Me” patch on Jaiden’s backpack had ties to slavery. However, the symbol, also known as the Gadsden flag, actually originates from Benjamin Franklin’s Join, or Die cartoon, which promotes colonial unity.
