Supreme Court appears prepared to deal major blow to anti-abortion law – Washington Examiner
The U.S. Supreme Court is set to permit abortions in emergency situations in Idaho after mistakenly posting an opinion online. The opinion indicated that the court would reinstate a lower court’s decision which allows abortions under these conditions primarily to safeguard the life of the mother. Though the opinion was briefly visible on the Supreme Court’s website, it was subsequently removed. This occurred amidst the release of other unrelated opinions by the court, with further opinions expected in the following days.
The Supreme Court is reportedly set to allow for abortions in emergency instances in Idaho, after an opinion was briefly posted online.
Bloomberg reports that a copy of the opinion was briefly available on the court’s website on Wednesday, and the majority ruled in favor of reinstating a lower court ruling allowing abortions in emergency cases to protect the life of the mother.
The opinion is no longer posted on the Supreme Court’s website. Earlier on Wednesday, the high court issued opinions in two other cases, and it is expected to release more opinions on Thursday and Friday.
