The Manhunt Ends: Suspected Gunman Killed in Shootout with Authorities
The intense manhunt for a suspected gunman responsible for the brutal murders of four individuals in Georgia has finally reached its conclusion. In a dramatic turn of events, the suspect, Andre Longmore, 40, was fatally shot during a fierce exchange of gunfire with deputies and police officers on Sunday afternoon.
Hampton officials have confirmed that this violent encounter also resulted in injuries to at least three members of law enforcement. One brave Clayton County deputy, who was shot in the back, had to be urgently airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.
It all began on Saturday when Longmore unleashed a hail of bullets on unsuspecting residents in a peaceful subdivision located just 30 miles outside of Atlanta. Tragically, three men and a woman lost their lives in this horrifying incident. The victims have been identified as Scott Leavitt, 67; Shirley Leavitt, 66; Steve Blizzard, 65; and Ronald Jeffers, 66.
