Taiwan’s Central Bank Maintains Communication with U.S. Treasury Department
Taiwan’s central bank has assured that it has established smooth communication channels with the U.S. Treasury Department. The bank intends to continue discussions with the department regarding foreign exchange policies, following the United States’ decision to keep Taiwan on a monitoring list.
Switzerland Remains on Monitoring List
In its semi-annual currency report, the U.S. Treasury Department announced that Switzerland remains on the “monitoring list” for close attention to foreign exchange and economic policies. The list also includes China, Taiwan, South Korea, Germany, Malaysia, and Singapore.
Positive Communication Channels
Taiwan’s central bank responded to the report by stating that its communication channels with the U.S. Treasury Department are “smooth.” The bank expressed its commitment to continue discussing overall economic and exchange rate policies with the department based on their positive interactions.
