Montana residents can now claim tax rebates up to $675 from today in 2023.
Apply for Property Tax Rebates in Montana
Residents in Montana now have the opportunity to apply for property tax rebates, with the potential to receive up to $675 in rebates. This exciting opportunity is available to eligible Montanans, and the application portal is now open.
Claim Your Rebate
The rebate application period will remain open until October 1st. Eligible residents can choose to claim their rebate through the convenient online portal or by filling out a paper form.
How Much Can You Receive?
The amount of rebate you receive is determined by the property taxes you have paid for your “principal Montana residence.” The maximum rebate amount is $675.
Qualifications for the Rebate
To qualify for the rebate, you must have owned and lived in a residence in Montana for at least seven months. Additionally, you must have been billed and paid for the property taxes on your residence. Please note that only one rebate is allowed per household.
Governor Gianforte’s Support
In July, Governor Greg Gianforte (R-MT) expressed his support for the rebates, stating, “Property taxes are too high, which is why we prioritized and secured immediate property tax relief for Montanans this legislative session. Now, it’s time to build on reforms to reduce the burden of property taxes over the long term.”
Quick Processing Times
If you file your rebate application online, you can expect to receive your rebate within 30 days of filing. However, if you choose to file on paper, processing times may take up to 90 days, according to the state.
Future Rebates
It’s important to note that a similar rebate will be available to residents of Montana in 2024, based on the tax year 2023. So, if you miss out on this year’s rebate, there will be another opportunity in the future.
Don’t miss out on this chance to receive property tax relief. Apply for your rebate today and take advantage of this valuable opportunity.
