Taxi driver exposes: Harry and Meghan’s car chase story falling apart.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Alleged Car Chase in New York City
Were Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Overreacting?
According to representatives of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the couple was pursued by “highly aggressive paparazzi” in New York City for over two hours, which resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians, and two NYPD officers. However, taxi driver Sukhcharn Singh, who drove the couple, said that while there was some pursuit, he did not frame the incident in dramatic terms. He said that he never felt like he was in danger and that it wasn’t like a car chase in a movie.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams suggested that the estimated duration of the chase could have been exaggerated, adding that even a 10-minute chase would be “extremely dangerous in New York City. We have a lot of traffic, a lot of movement, a lot of people are using our streets.”
- The couple’s security guard “did more talking,” Singh added.
- An NYPD statement said that “There were numerous photographers that made their transport challenging.”
While being a public figure comes with a level of interest from the public, it should never come at the cost of anyone’s safety, said the representative of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
So, were Prince Harry and Meghan Markle overreacting? Or was the car chase as dramatic as they claimed? The truth remains unclear.
