Taylor Swift Boasts: ‘I Love To Explain To Men How To Apologize’
During a concert in Arizona, Taylor Swift revealed to her audience that one of her favorite things to do is to “explain to men how to apologize.” She also discussed her latest album, “Folklore,” which deviates from her usual autobiographical songs to incorporate characters and storylines. Swift explained that “Folklore” was a new project for her and that she wanted to create something unique. The song she performed at the concert, “Betty,” was inspired by actors Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s daughters and centers around a teenage boy named James apologizing to the love of his life, Betty.
Swift has previously spoken out about gender discrimination in the music industry and society. In her song “The Man,” she imagines how she would be treated if she were a man. She has also discussed how men in the music industry viewed her as a child when she first began her career and how she was not taken seriously until she started playing in stadiums. In her acceptance speech for Billboard’s “Woman of the Decade” award, Swift denounced the “toxic male privilege” in the industry.
