Ted Cruz Blasts Gregg Popovich Over Second Amendment Remarks
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) recently criticized San Antonio Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich for calling the Second Amendment a myth. Popovich expressed his view in response to Cruz’s proposal to strengthen school safety measures by providing more armed security. According to Popovich, the Second Amendment is just a game and has been used to cloak legislative proposals. In his podcast “Verdict” with co-host Ben Ferguson, Cruz asserted that many sports institutions and athletes do not value their fans. He also said that these rich athletes hypocritically lecture their customers while remaining ignorant of the topic they speak about. Cruz believes that while leftist athletes are protected by armed security, American children do not deserve similar protection when they attend school.
Liberal professional athletes, the coaches, and Hollywood elites are all surrounded by armed security.
But the Left doesn’t believe YOU have the right to defend yourself and keep your family safe.
It’s hypocritical and condescending. #Verdict

Cruz, who prioritizes school safety, delivered a speech on the Senate floor, advocating for the protection of children in schools. He also reintroduced two pieces of legislation – the Securing Our Schools Act and the Protect Our Children’s Schools Act – aimed at increasing access to student mental health treatment and improving school security. Cruz further introduced the Safe Kids, Safe Schools, Safe Communities Act of 2022 and the Protecting Communities and Preserving the Second Amendment Act to tackle these issues.
