Ted Cruz Requests An Emergency Delay To Stop Biden’s Latest Push
Ted Cruz, a Texas Republican, has asked the Senate Democrats to hold off on President Biden’s nomination to head the Federal Aviation Administration.
In light of new allegations of workplace misconduct, Mr. Cruz stated that the Senate Commerce Committee should delay considering Phil Washington’s nomination.
“Mr. Washington’s hearing needs to be delayed until the committee has time to investigate new concerns about his nomination,” Fox News interviewed Mr. Cruz as the top Republican on Commerce Committee.
Washington, the Denver International Airport CEO, has denied any wrongdoing. Washington is scheduled to appear before Commerce Committee on Wednesday.

An employee of Hispanic descent brought the lawsuit after complaining about racism and pay discrimination from his supervisor.
Mr. Cruz believes that the lawsuit should prompt further investigation into Mr. Washington’s abilities to lead the nation’s biggest transportation agency.
“Last week, we discovered he failed to disclose to the committee that he’s been named in a new lawsuit alleging discriminatory and retaliatory practices at Denver’s airport,” Fox News Digital was informed by Mr. Cruz.
“He also failed to provide to the Committee more than 18 hours of speeches and remarks as well as details concerning additional lawsuits involving him, all of which staff now must review,” Mr. Cruz said.
The White House in July nominated Washington to the FAA post. His nomination was blocked in the 50-50 Senate due to opposition by Republicans.
GOP lawmakers have raised questions regarding Mr. Washington’s work experience and workplace conduct.
Washington was also named in two lawsuits alleging general discrimination as well as whistleblower retaliation during Washington’s tenure at the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
He was also named in a criminal search warrant that the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department issued in September 2022 to investigate charges of favoritism at Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
Washington denies wrongdoing and says the allegations made are false.
