City Councilor Jehuda Spielman, who has a personal connection to the victim, commended the brave bystanders who intervened and undoubtedly saved the victim’s life.
“We were incredibly fortunate that people stepped in to stop the attack,” Spielman said.
Spielman revealed that the suspect shouted anti-Semitic slogans during the assault. After being subdued, the assailant made references to “jihadist concepts” and proclaimed “death to the Jews.”
