At least six people have been killed⁢ and ⁤almost two ⁤dozen more have been⁣ wounded after severe storms⁢ and a ⁢tornado‌ struck⁣ central Tennessee.

On Saturday, almost six ⁤people, including ⁢a child,⁤ are dead after several drastic tornadoes swept⁢ through‍ Tennessee and‌ at least one⁢ reported in Kentucky.

The tornado forced Tenneseeans to seek shelter while leaving a path of ⁤harm and devastation ⁤in ‍their wake.

Three more deaths were reported ⁣by the Nashville Emergency Operation Center​ on Saturday⁣ night, in addition to the two adults and one child who⁢ were reported dead in the Clarksville, Tennessee, area.

“This is devastating ‍news​ and our hearts are broken for the families of those who lost loved ones,” said ​Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts.​ “The​ City stands ready to help them in their time ⁢of grief.”

“We mourn the lives lost & ask that‌ everyone continue to follow ‍guidance from local & state officials,” Tennessee Governor ⁤Bill Lee (R-Tenn.) said in a statement on ‌X, formerly Twitter.

More than 20 others were treated ​at the hospital, according to ‌Montgomery County officials, and ‍as of Saturday night, they‌ were “in the search ​and rescue ⁢phase of this disaster.”

“At this time we can confirm that three people are deceased, two adults and one child as a result of the tornado ‍that touched down this⁤ afternoon. Additionally, 23 people have been treated at the hospital,” authorities from Montgomery County said ‌Saturday.

The Metropolitan ⁢Nashville Police Department identified the‍ three who were killed by the Tornado in Montgomery County as Joseph Dalton, ​37, Floridema Gabriel Perez, 31, ⁢and her son, Anthony Elmer Mendez,⁤ 2, according to ⁣the press.

Dalton was inside his​ own mobile home when it was⁤ thrown on top of Perez’s house. Authorities ⁣said that two more kids, one ​from each house, were receiving non-life-threatening medical attention at the hospital.

At the moment, there was no⁢ additional information available regarding the⁤ other three deaths.

Additionally, the National Weather ​Service ‌declared‍ a tornado ⁣watch‍ for multiple areas throughout four states, including ‌Arkansas, Kentucky,⁢ Mississippi, and Tennessee, shortly before ‌noon on⁣ Saturday.
