If the Biden Administration Ignores State Abortion Pill Ruling, Texas senator suggests that House Republicans defund FDA products.
After President Joe Biden threatened to challenge a federal decision to suspend the agency’s’s approval of the abortion pill mifepristone, Rep. Tony Gonzales( R-TX ) suggested that House Republicans could get to the point where they vote to defund Food and Drug Administration programs.
The FDA’s’s endorsement of mifepristone, which is used to end the life of an unborn child in roughly half of all pregnancies since officials first allowed using the pill more than 20 years ago, was suspended last week by U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk. According to Kasmaryk, the FDA hastened its approval of releasing the potentially dangerous medication onto the market by ignoring requests and stonewalling judicial review.
Biden has vowed to challenge the Texas decision, calling it” another unprecedented step in taking away fundamental rights from wives and putting their health at risk.”
However, Sen. Ron Wyden( D-OR ) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, are encouraging the Biden administration to ignore the decision, according to Representative Gonzales, who told CNN” State of the Union” host Dana Bash on Sunday that this is a” very dangerous” message.
Gonzales asserted that” The House Republicans have the power of the pocketbook.” We’re’re going to have a problem if the administration doesn’t follow through on this decision. It might get to the point where House Republicans on the appropriation side are forced to fund FDA programs that are absurd.
The Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine and other pro-life organizations, represented by attorneys with the Alliance Defending Freedom, sued the FDA in November and charged it with” reckless and inadequate screening” of the abortion drug regimen using mifepristone and removing restrictions intended to protect women’s’s safety. Judge Kacsmaryk sided with these organizations in their decision.
Erik Baptist, a senior counsel for the ADF, asserted that FDA officials never had the power to review these medications and eliminate crucial protection.
According to Baptist,” Pregnancy is not an illness, and chemical pregnancy medications don’t offer a medical benefit; they can cause severe and life-threatening complications for the mother in addition to taking the life of the child.”
The Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America group polled Americans, and 75 % of them agreed that the FDA may have conducted studies on girls under the age of 18 before approving the abortion medication for minors. As a result, Americans do not agree with the agency’s’s claims that mail-order abortion pills are safe.
A board-certified OB-GYN with about 30 years of experience, Ingrid Skop, M. D., F. A. C. O. G. According to Skop, who is a senior colleague and director of health affairs at Charlotte Lozier Institute, she performed at least 12 surgeries on women who had complications from abortion medication, including those who needed blood transfusions, solution for serious diseases, and emotional grief after seeing their child’s’s physique in the toilet.
Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of SBA Pro-Life America, stated that following the Dobbs v. Jackson decision, the abortion industry has relied on contraception pills as a deterrent because more than 12 states have passed strict laws protecting newborn children and their mothers.
” Women deserve to know about all the life-affirming options that are available to them, including about 3, 000 pregnancy centers and maternity homes statewide that offer essential services at no cost, as well as secure, reliable abortion medication reverse that has saved thousands of babies after their mothers regretted taking mifepristone to trigger an pregnancy.” The pro-life organization is prepared to serve them with compassion and respect as always, according to Dannenfelser.
A month did pass before the Biden administration can challenge the ruling.
