Law enforcement officials have identified the suspect responsible for the tragic shooting at the Allen Premium Outlets in Texas. The suspect, a 33-year-old Latino male who worked as a security guard, reportedly murdered at least eight people and injured several others.
Details of the Shooting
According to officials, the suspect was wearing a tactical vest and armed with a rifle, a handgun, and other weapons in his car. The FBI raided a home in the northeast patrol division of Dallas where the suspect reportedly lived with his parents. The suspect drove a gray Dodge Charger and had been staying at a motel in recent days.
Victims and Response
The shooter was confirmed dead at the scene, and there were multiple victims, including children. Nine victims, ranging from ages 5 to 61, were transported to the hospital. The shooter acted alone, and a police officer responding to a separate call at the outlet mall heard gunfire and engaged the shooter before calling for emergency personnel.

Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott issued a statement following the shooting, expressing his condolences and offering support to the people of Allen, Texas. “Our hearts are with the people of Allen, Texas tonight during this unspeakable tragedy,” Abbott said. “I have been in contact with Mayor Fulk and DPS Director McCraw as well as other state and local leaders and offered the full support of the State of Texas to local officials to ensure all needed assistance and resources are swiftly deployed, including DPS officers, Texas Rangers, and investigative resources.”
